TRAIN TO BE A PROFESSIONAL RESCUER
LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION COURSE: ONLINE + CLASSROOM
Class covers the skills and knowledge to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. Class will certify in the following: Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, and AED. Student must attend entire class, as well as pass written and skills test to receive certification.

Prerequisites
Participants should be at least 15 years old by the last day of class, and must be able to swim 300 yards, show proficiency in front crawl and breast stroke, surface dive to the bottom of the lap pool, and tread water.
Please contact Shelley Lechnir to get online portion of the class, that must be completed prior to the first night or you will not be allowed in class.

LIFEGUARD REVIEW COURSE
Keep your certification current
The purpose of this course is to help currently certified participants achieve recertification in Lifeguard Training without having to take the full content course. This review class will re-certify in the following: Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, AED and Bloodborne Pathogens. Students must attend all scheduled classes, as well as pass a written and skill test to receive certification.

Participants need to hold current Red Cross Lifeguard certification that include Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogens.

Junior Lifeguarding
Jr lifeguarding is designed to guide youth to the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course by building a foundation of knowledge, attitudes and skills for future lifeguards. Participants are not required to master or perfectly execute skills. They should learn techniques and build stamina during this program.
Jr lifeguarding will introduce participants to skills needed for full lifeguarding course, communication and decision-making skills, basic responsibilities of a lifeguard, basic knowledge and skills to be a lifeguard. Please note: The Jr. lifeguarding course does not certify participants in first aid, CPR, AED or as a lifeguard.
Prerequisites: Participants should be 11 years old or completed 5th grade through 14 years of age. Swimming requirements – 25 yds of front crawl, back crawl, elementary back and breaststroke. Tread water for 1 minute, back float for 30 seconds and swim a distance of 10 yds underwater.
