Christmas dance show scheduled for December 1

It’s that time of year again when Kimi Kups-Benson and her amazing dancers from the Marshalltown YMCA-YWCA School of Dance, The Dance Konnection, are getting ready to put on their annual Christmas show. This year’s theme is, “Santa’s Ho Ho Hoedown” and will be a show for people of all ages. The show will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Dec. 1 at the Marshalltown Performing Arts Center (at MHS). Admission is $5 per person and it is open to the public.

Santa Claus will be in attendance and available for pictures and candy canes for the kids with a $3 minimum contribution for photos taken with your phone or camera. Proceeds from the Santa pictures will be donated to the Marshalltown YMCA-YWCA Annual Campaign which donates memberships to families and supports youth development.

The Dance Konnection believes strongly in giving back. All proceeds from admission will go to the Marshalltown Animal Rescue League as well as silent auction donations going to the Special Olympics. The studio also sold T-shirts and the funds were distributed to the Marshalltown YMCA-YWCA School of Dance – Dance Scholarship.
